The T-33 Silver Star is a design variant of this aircraft.  6,557 Shooting Stars were produced, it is a progression from the Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star and preceded the Lockheed F-94 Starfire.  The T-33B is the redesignation of the U.S. Navy TV-2, in 1962.
